Freddie Goodhart was just trying to get rid of a 1937 Martin
We met an old guitar picker named Freddie Goodhart on the second day of
the tour when we swung through Lexington, VA to pay respects at the
tomb of Gen. Robert E. Lee. Mr. Goodhart has been picking banjo
and guitar for some 50 years with guys like Ralph Stanley, and when he
played a 1937 Martin guitar for us at his antique shop, we just had to
buy a late 19th century zither from him before hitting the road to
Knoxville.
A
short clip of our show last night at El Rancho Grande in Baltimore. For
more pictures go to our blog on Myspace, where we'll be posting tour dispatches as we make our way deeper into the South. For more extensive coverage of the tour, go toJoe Jangles blog.
We're pleased to announce that our song "Fiery Furnace" has somehow made its way onto a radio show in the Netherlands. A DJ we know only as 'Marco' has us on his playlist for May 6. Go check it out.
And if you happen to read Dutch, check out the LONradio site and tell us what it says. Meanwhile, we continue to be amazed and confounded by the future.
